Duorama: Privacy Policy
Effective from version 1.1, November 2026. New in 1.1: the list of rolls you have used is kept in your iCloud (see below).
In short: Duorama doesn’t collect, keep or share any personal data. There’s no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and no software from other companies inside the app. The only things the app talks to are Apple’s App Store, for the purchases, and your own iCloud, for the list of rolls you have used.
Your photos
Duorama uses the camera to show the live picture in its finder and to take your photos. The photos of a roll wait inside the app on your iPhone until the roll is finished. Then you choose: Develop this roll sends its 12 photos and its contact sheet to your Photos library, and Don’t develop deletes the roll from the app, after a warning. If you own Every roll, for good, each roll goes to your Photos library when you finish it, or each photo as you take it if you turn that on in Settings.
- Duorama only adds photos to your Photos library. It can’t see the photos already there.
- The photos never reach us or anyone else. When you share a contact sheet, iOS’s own share sheet opens and you choose where it goes.
- Photos carry no location: the app never asks where you are.
What stays on your iPhone
Your settings and choices (the camera’s finish, the hood at start, the finder’s reversal, the film border, the grain, the zoom, the front-camera slide), your rolls and frame counts, and any photos waiting to be developed. They’re kept on your iPhone and in your own iPhone backup, if you have backups turned on. Deleting the app deletes them from the iPhone. The list of rolls you have used is also kept in your iCloud, so that a new iPhone or a reinstall can tell which rolls are spent (next section).
Your rolls used, in your iCloud
When you develop a roll with a roll you bought, Duorama adds one entry to a list of rolls you have used: a random number for that roll, and nothing else. There’s no photo, name, date or location in it. With Every roll, for good nothing is added. The list is kept on your iPhone and in your own iCloud, through Apple’s iCloud key-value storage, so that your count of rolls left follows you to a new iPhone.
- The list never reaches us. Duorama has no server and sends us nothing; it is your iCloud account, held by Apple, that keeps it for you. Apple’s handling of iCloud is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- If you aren’t signed in to iCloud, the list stays on your iPhone and joins your iCloud when you sign in.
- The list is yours, in your own iCloud: we hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete. Apple explains how to choose which apps use your iCloud in Change which apps sync and store data with iCloud, and says that when you turn iCloud off for an app, the app no longer connects with iCloud, so your data exists only on your device.
The purchases
The purchases are handled entirely by Apple’s App Store. The app asks the App Store only which purchases you have made and what they cost where you are, and counts the rolls you have bought from that. We never receive your payment details, your Apple Account or your name. Apple’s handling of purchases is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Camera and Photos permissions
iOS asks for each one the first time it’s needed: the camera when the camera first opens, and Photos the first time a photo is saved. You can change either at any time in the iPhone’s Settings app, under Duorama.
Children
Duorama is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
